UPDATE THURSDAY 12.03.20
Oakgrove Leisure Centre will close from tomorrow Friday March 13th until further notice.
There will be no membership hours, no swimming lessons (in Oakgrove or Lavanagh centre), no fitness classes.
Spin and S&C classes cancelled for tonight Thursday 12/03.
The health and well-being of our members and customers is foremost in our thoughts and following the governments directives today, we feel this is the right course of action.
We hope to open again when it is feasible. We will post any updates here and on our Facebook page.
Thanks for your understanding, and best wishes to all our members and customers.
We are promoting good hygiene for all our customers in the present circumstances. This is an ongoing process, please follow the guidelines below if you are attending our swimming lessons at Oakgrove or the Lavanagh Centre.
First, remember that Chlorine inactivates COVID-19
Oakgrove follows guidelines for swimming pool chlorination from the HSE that are enough to inactivate COVID-19
AS PER HSE GUIDENLINES: “Yes – adherence to current recommended disinfection practice is sufficient to inactivate COVID-19 virus in chlorinated drinking water and swimming pools.”
Bring Clean Indoor Shoes or Flip Flops
Rather than using our blue overshoes please bring a clean pair or swimming pool flip flops, these must
be cleaned beforehand and not used outdoors. But, blue overshoes will still be available if you prefer.
Parent Only Where Possible
To reduce crowding and contact, if possible please attend with just one parent or guardian. Wherever possible, please attend without siblings and relatives.
If you prefer not to wait with other parents, you may wait outside or in your car but please make
sure reception have your contact telephone number.
Please follow all normal pool hygiene rules such as ensuring your child showers and washes hair as
well as uses the bathroom before entering the swimming pool. Try to make sure your child knows to
cough or sneeze into their elbow while in the pool and to use a tissue outside of it, throwing it away
afterwards and washing their hands.
No child or adult swimmer should attend if they are ill, or have recently been to an affected area. (See HSE link below).
While we remain open for business we are unable to carry forward any classes that are not attended. Please note that in the event of the cessation / enforced closure of our centre, then any remaining classes will be fulfilled as soon as we re-open (at the same time and day as at present).
Please read the HSE Coronavirus dedicated page for any further information:
